On day in Venice...

Venice is always a good idea!

We've fled the bad weather at Lake Garda during our summer vacation and spontaneously decided for a one day trip to Venice...

This small trip was just sooo... lovely and gave me so much inspiration!
Couldn't resit and already bring some Venice vibes in my last home project :)

Modern Japanese inspired interior

Probably my last project before summer break :)
I couldn't be more happy to work on a "Japanese" inspired home project as it was sooo warm during the last weeks and sooo difficult to find some energy! But when it's come to Japan I always have a lot of inspiration ;)

The project:

⇢ A small living dining space.
⇢ The room is unfortunately not very wide!
⇢ But the big window brings a lot of light as well as a nice view to the garden..

The wish list:

⇢ A "big" living room and dining place because the house is always full of people: kids and their playmate, family, friends... ;)
⇢ A warm and cosy place with a natural Japanese/Scandinavian touch!

And here is my proposal ;)

New Zealand inspired summer residence

I made a little sketch during my vacation in south of France last month, and I finally found some time to bring it to life :)
I wanted to create my dream summer residence and this is the result! Now just have to find the property ;)

While I was searching for some color scheme inspiration I wondered why I was so focus on the color dark blue and green, until I found this postcard I bought in New Zealand! I very often associate colors with places I've been! After looking at some old pics I definitely understand why I love the combination of both colors when it comes to summer, sea, sun, beach... What an amazing place...

No Blah Blah Post: Natural Japanese Style Room

Just a short post because it's summer and the heat waves from the past days really put my work efficiency on level 0 ;)

About the project:

⇨ Guest, TV and kids playroom
⇨ Create a light and friendly space in a natural and warm color scheme which allow to integrate the Japanese ceramic pieces and black and white pictures from the owners!

The wish list :

⇨ The owners wanted to keep an old Japanese dark wood drawer, a big Chinese carved wood panel (over the sofa) and their red sofa! Not easy for a natural look ;)
⇨ they also wanted to have most of the walls white.

The most difficult point was to integrate a red sofa into a natural color scheme. To reduce the contrast in the room between the sofa and the white walls I go for beige slide curtains and a color gradient wallpaper in Wabi Sabi style! I could then create more easily a color scheme with the color red, white, gray, beige and salmon.

Modern Vintage Teen Room

Last small home project before holiday next week! Cool ;)...
This one was not that easy! Because of the size of the room and the special interior taste of the owners, both Italian 50th style lovers!

To the coaching:
→ The room is for the moment a kids playroom and should turn into a TV and Guest room
→ It should be teens (Girls) friendly but also have a little vintage retro touch!

To my proposal:
→ The most difficult point is the proportion of the room. It's not very wide!
→ I choose a bed and not a convertible sofa because I think the girls would probably more enjoy to "chill out" ;) or watch TV on a big day bed.
→ I go for less furnitures: just a tin board under the TV to display some pictures and small decorations, and a hanging rail for guests clothes instead of a wardrobe to keep the room as light as possible. Some "wow" pieces like the retro designer lamps and bedside table, and a vintage mirror!
→ I play with wallpaper colors and prints in order to fill the wall and bring some life but also try to get the room visually bigger.
→ The heavy curtains add a cosy and chic touch...

Et voilà...

Tiny statement kitchen...

Tiny kitchen don't have necessary to look small or dark! Even the smallest place can shine...

To the project:

→ One room flat
→ The kitchen is part of the hallway: it's long and not very wide
→ There is a window next to the entry

To my design:

→ The space is enough big to planned a fully equipped kitchen: big fridge, dishwasher, oven, a lot of storage space

→ The problem is the length of the room and the small wall in the back!
I choose a shelf in order to break the long hallway effect and clearly define the kitchen area and the entry space with the toilet! And very important, the glass shelf won't take off the natural light :)

→ to let the space more "shine" especially the wall in the back and bring some statement in the room I go for a wall panel with landscape design. But it was important to choose one who doesn't looks to "cliché". Completely in love with the one of Papermint. So chic...

→ I also play with the suspension light to reduce the length effect...

Voilà ;)

Wabi Sabi home style meets summer vibes...

Perfect way to end the week and start the weekend!
My last home project is a small sneak peak of summer time and relaxing moment at the beach!
Can wait to spend more time outside and get back to Lake Garda in Italie ...

On the owners wish list:
⇨ less furnitures
⇨ but still a big closet
⇨ a cosy bed
⇨ less decoration
⇨ a natural / blue color scheme

And there is the result! Specially in love with the built in closet which doors are covered with an amazing wall picture in wabi sabi style... So chic :)

Hong Kong vibes...

My favorite projects are the ones where I'm aloud to play with color and texture!

In this case try to bring Hong Kong's energy and vibes in a study room.
I don't wanted to make it too colorful and messy as the street of the city!
The result is a more peaceful but still vibrant room. Perfect for spending a relaxing moment with a book or being creative at the desk!
The dynamic of the city comes from the prints and pattern: the scratch of the wallpaper, the strips of the curtains, the surface of the stool, the color mix of the desk and the wood structure of the sideboard! I added a little touch of color to make it more joyful and lively!
And Hong Kong is definitely a very vibrant and lively city, and still my crush place...

Statement dining place or a "Non-Kitchen" Kitchen design...

I spent a few days in France during Easter holidays and as usual my favorite activity there is to read a lot of french home magazines :) Lucky me: my mother buy every month my favorite ones and after 3 months not seeing my parents I had this time a lot to read ;)
So I was prepare to spend some relaxing moments but then it happend! The "Can you please help me to plan a new kitchen area?" question while having lunch with fiends and family! My bestie just had a crush on a picture she saw in one of my magazine!
I can easily understand her (I have basically a crush on half of the home inspirations I see ;) and of course I'll help her because I love her, and also to design interiors :) ...

California "state of mind" interior style

Really love to work on this project!
Two weeks ago a friend of mine asked me to design her living room in a California cool and natural way!! As I unfortunaltly never went there I needed first to make some search and then... I fall in love!!! After our Japan trip I couldn't even thing about moving again! But now I really could imagine living for a while on the west coast!

The result is Bohemian Californian look with a twist of Scandinavian classics...
As always I add an inspiration items liste! I told my friend that she don't have to buy all the furnitures on it! She can feel free to use the items she already have (thank you for planet Earth!) or buy if she prefers some more affordable than the expensive designer pieces! So you are ;)
